DAY SEVEN AND EIGHT........

To Dingboche and up to Lobuche and 4910m above the sea!

Chilling!??!

Ama Dablam close!

The hot lemon tea with honey that i lived on to keep the Khumbu cough at bay!

Tek goes crazy at the site of the frozen stream and starts throwing rocks at it!!! Funny guy!

Photo outside an abandoned shepherds lodge.... Its too cold even for the Sherpa shepherds apparently!

The landscape at the top of the world........

A memorial to Babu Chiri Sherpa, who climbed Everest 10 times. Three of the summit climbs were in the space of two weeks and he once stayed at the summit for a record 21 hours. He formerly held the record for time taken to summit - 16 hours 56minutes in 80 mph winds (Hurricane force). None of his climbs were carried out with supplementary oxygen. He died after slipping into a crevasse in the Western Cwm above Base Camp in 2001 attempting to climb for the 11th time.
He left behind a legacy of building schools and communities with the money he raised.

The memorial site for all the others who perished on the mountain..... a very sombre place.
