Day nine..... a 12 hour hike up to the highest point and down to Periche. The hardest days trek i have ever done up to 5364m along the Khumbu Glacier at Base Camp. A very challenging, difficult and tiring but beautiful day!

Struggling with altitude sickness - intense nausea and an epic headache - i was relieved to have arrived at Base Camp in one piece!Behind me lies the Western Cwm and the great Khumbu Icefall and glacier!

On the way back down we stopped off for some rest and food..... i was really really struggling!
Our 12 hour hike meant that we would be trekking into the night. I was beginning to feel better as we had rapidly descended and the scenery was immense.
What can only be described as the hardest and longest trek of my life..... i was absolutely destroyed and relieved to be at our lodge in Periche.
